I am going home~! To the place where I belong~! ^^, Will be back for the weekend till next Monday and hell yeah I sure am excited! Can’t wait to be back! All the food and the nice things in Penang. ^^,

Again procrastination got the better of me. This should have been uploaded weeks ago.
But I guess this time procrastination does have it own advantages. The previous batch just left yesterday, so this morning, my room mate woke up early and he started cleaning the house. I woke up a little later to help him out (actually its a couple of hours later. Sorry~). >.< So because of procrastination, what you are going to see here today is a better, cleaner and a more organized house. ^^, Wahahahahaha.

Going back to the entrance, if you turn left, this is what you see. Rooms are those with red doors while washroom are the light brown coloured door at the end of the hallway.

Continuing from where I left off.
After the Cameron trip, I went for a fishing trip/Penang Hill/Movie on Monday with Nicki, Chicken Chop and Kiam Hu. No pictures of the trip because I did not bring my camera along with me. >.<
On Tuesday, I went to shop for my long awaited James Phelan’s book – The Blood Oil. Haven’t read it yet as I am currently reading Josh Grisham’s The Appeal. ^^, Can’t wait to read it though! ^^, I do recommend James Phelan’s books to fans of Clancy and Robert Ludlum.
After the book shopping, I went to watch X-Men Origins! It has been so long since I went into a cinema and it was great! ^^, The show is simply amazing!
And then on Wednesday, I spent the whole day with my Ah Mui to celebrate her birthday! ^^,

Somehow when I take pictures, my expression looked kinda funny. >.<
And then on Thursday, I went to Rasa Sayang hotel for a buffet dinner which cost RM96 bucks. Though it cost a kidney and a liver, the food tastes great! One of the best buffet I have ever had! Highly recommended. We went on Thursday, so its the International Buffet day. If you want to go for the Seafood buffet, go on Fridays and Saturdays.
Oh and I forgot to mention, the place is called Spice Market. I had a hard time finding it at first because Rasa Sayang is quite big and the displayed sign is pretty small. So I missed it when driving past looking for a parking. Asked the security guard twice and he wasn’t helpful at all. Ended up after a few trial and errors, I finally found it.

I know most of you must be thinking by now : “Show us the food already”. Patience is a virtue. ^^, We happen to arrive early so we walked around the hotel first.
I remember when I was in Sabah, there is also a seaside hotel(forgotten the name) where there is also huts similar to this but slightly bigger which offers massaging services while you enjoy the scenery with a cool drink. What a way to relax! ^^,

And here comes the food! Its an International buffet, therefore there is Indian, Italian, Chinese, Oriental and Japanese food. They also have seafood, but only cold seafood. ^^,

We did not drank of course. It cost a bomb! Can’t remember how much exactly but around RM200 I think? >.< The red thing in the glass is strawberry jelly. It has a strawberry on top of it but I guess it went down into the stomach first. >.<
Desserts. There are so many types of desserts. I did not even manage to try them all. But I did try the chocolate fountain. ^^, My first chocolate fountain experience!! Hahaha.

And then on Friday, upon my Ah Mui’s request, I took her around the island. Spotted this radio aid near the airport. I think this is a Doppler VOR. I have not seen a conventional VOR nor a Doppler VOR so close before. The only VOR I have seen is the Langkawi VOR but from 4100 feet, so it wasn’t so clear. But according to what I have studied, this does satisfy the description of a Doppler VOR. >.<
Just for those who are interested, Doppler VOR uses Doppler principle to reduce siting error (i.e error caused by its location) compared to a conventional VOR. For a pilot, it has no difference at all in the air. ^^, VOR = Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Radial and pilots use it for Air Navigation.
One of our stops, the Butterfly Farm. Recommended to everyone who comes to Penang. Imagine walking in a park full of butterflies flying around you. Just be careful not to step on any of them. I also recommend Tropical Fruit Farm. It offers a really great fruit buffet but it only opens on weekends, unless of course if you have at least 20 people in your group, then you can go on weekdays.

At my god-bro’s house. Camping for the night. LOL. God-bro and god-sis. Great people in my life! Definitely makes my life more colourful.
On Saturday night. One day before I go back to Langkawi. Family dinner at Korea Palace. ^^, Nice food. Ordered a assorted BBQ meal. Look at the amount of food that we have ate. Dad & Mom on the left of the picture. Although only did manage to capture my mom’s arm.

And this is the certificate that I am the most proud of! ^^, Nothing much but I am really really happy. This is for my second semester. Wonder what happened to the one in the first semester. I will go visit Sabah again next year after I graduate from my flying school. Hopefully I have the time….and money. LOL
This is the medal I got many moons back. It was pinned to my Red Crescent uniform for a very long time before I recently decided to take it down and keep it properly. ^^, Those were good times.
At the airport on Sunday. 35 minutes to departure. ^^, I am missing my parents already. Coming to think of it, it has been some time since I spent time with them. Before my sent off, I was busy in the uni and now here I am, training and again busy. Hmmmm…
Anyway thats all there is. Now that I am in my CA2 phase already, I am one step closer to my dream of flying high up there in the blue skies!
Well I am back here again in Langkawi. One week of holiday in Penang is definitely not enough but then again I am glad, better something than nothing right.
One week is extremely short and I have waste no time at all! Been busy eating, buying stuff, meeting friends, collecting ang paus and etc etc, but mostly, its about eating >.< Food in Penang has this special effect on a human – when you set your eyes upon it, you cannot escape from it anymore! You have to work your mouth! Chew chew chew!
Anyway, from the midst of all the chaos, I still manage to take some pictures to share with you peeps. ^^,
First is this super huge present I received from my all time best friend – Samantha! Cookies for anyone who can guess what it is….

But before I go, let me wish everyone A Happy Prosperous Chinese Ox New Year! Drive safe, eat more, laugh non-stop, enjoy the company of families, get/give more ang paus, don’t mess with firecrackers – burn them the way they are meant to be burnt and remember to buckle up at the rear seat! You don’t want to be giving “ang paus” to the police during Chinese New Year! ^^,
Today my parents plan to go visit my grandma back in Parit Buntar which is about 45 minutes drive from Penang. Our journey started at about 1pm after having our lunch. And the journey is actually quite smooth until when we are about 20km out from Jawi exit that our car start to experience some loss in engine power and the engine start to sputter and vibrate every time my dad step on the accelerator. My first assumption was that we ran out of fuel. But then I remember that i just refueled 2 days ago. So I thought fuel leak?? But the fuel indicator still points at the half tank mark. So then I thought we might have fuel contamination. But again I rule it out because water sinks in fuel so if there is contamination I would have experienced it yesterday or in the morning when we first start the car. Then my dad suspected that it was due to electrical systems that our spark plugs aren’t firing as it should.
We only managed to maintain a speed of about 80km/h but luckily after about 1 minute I saw a sign saying Sungai Bakap rest point 5km ahead. So I was quite relieved. And upon stoppping there we immediately try to figure out whats wrong. Me and my dad was at the front probing into the bonnet to see if there is anything out of place. And after some time checking the wires and the systems, we are happy that its all green and good to go, so we decided to carry on. But upon accelerating, once again we experience the sputtering. So I was liike, uh-oh. But we decided to carry on anyway because we are actually quite close to Parit Buntar already but in that split second, our car suddenly gain back its momentum and we continued on smoothly after that. God knows whats wrong. ^^,
So we reach my grandma’s place it was about 2pm and we were told by my grandma that my cousin actually went to Penang today to visit us. So it was uh-oh again. And immediately we gave our cousin a call and turns out they are already half way through to Penang.
So we sat down and I was chatting to my grandma then suddenly a call came. It was from my cousin and she asked us to fetch my grandma to Penang since it has been ages since my grandma went to travel due to her weak legs.
So my dad agrees and after resting for about 2 hours, we went to fetch my uncle and we head back to Penang once again. It felt weird to me though because we actually plan to go there till night but now we are heading back to Penang. My grandma looks excited too since it has been some time since she came to Penang and to our home. And oh the picture below is taken near my grandma’s house where the traffic light looks a little weird to me because instead of using a single green light, they decided to go with the triple arrow design instead. Doesn’t it cost more?? Beats me..
So we reach back Penang at about 5pm and we were waiting for my cousin to come meet us for dinner at home. So at about 630pm they came and after some chatting, we went for dinner at this restaurant at Farlim called Genting at 7pm.
When we reached the restaurant it was already packed with people but luckily we managed to find a table and my parents ordered 10 different types of dishes!! OMG!! And since it was really packed there, we have to wait for about 1 hour before food is served. But it was worth the wait because the food there is delicious and it wasn’t really expensive. One person only cost about RM20, so I think it was worth it!
Overall, it was a great day today but it just feels weird for me ^^,
Ok fellas. This is the fourth day back in Penang. And since today is a Monday, I decided to go to school to collect my long neglected STPM certificate and also to find some teachers and at the same time see how the school is doing.
Well there is a lot of changes in the school. Be it in the administration – there are a lot of new teachers, new faces everywhere. Or the physical state – the staff room is the most significant where there are new tables and also new sitting plan. Looks better also.
The one thing that never change is the spirit of SXI and also the discipline problem as usual.
One thing to note though when I went to school today. I saw one parent were shouting at a teacher like there was no tomorow. So I got curious and I went to ask Pn Ong what is wrong. And she told me that the boy’s father was called to school to be notified that his son pushed a prefect in school during recess. Actually its after recess and the prefect blocked the toilet door because we are not allowed to go in when the recess ends for fear that we might skip classes. We can always come back later. But this boy chooses to push in instead and the father is angry because the prefect did not allow the boy to enter saying that its nature’s call so there is no reason not to let him go in the toilet. For freaking 7 years I study in SXI never once I had this issues with any prefects. I always go before the bell rings or come back later. Its how you manage yourself. Its a school rule so students have to obey the rules. I don’t see any reasons why the parent need to shout. Parents are not the rule makers. And it makes me wonder what kind of a parent he is and what example he is showing to his son. And also it shows the level of his mentality and how an educated person he is.
He demanded that the prefect apologies to his son. Really ironic.
I was once caned by my principal for challenging the head prefect. The rules says nobody should bring sweets to school but I challenged the head prefect saying that the canteen is selling sweets. So how is the rule gonna apply and I was canned. Although the rule seems funny but I know I was canned because I challenged the head prefect. I think if this were to happen today, it would have been made such a big news that the whole nation will read it on the papers. I think it is because of idiotic and ignorant parents that they pamper their children too much that today we face so much youth problems.

Well this is day two since I came back from Sabah. It felt a little different here somehow. It just doesn’t feel the same like the first time when I came back at the end of my first semester. It somehow felt a little bit blank. A little empty. I am excited but not as excited. Perhaps its because I know I won’t be going back to Sabah anytime soon and I won’t be seeing my uni comrades anytime soon. I do admit its a little quiet here. Not like when I am in the hostel, we were making noise and laughing all day long!! That was fun!!
There is many things that are not the same here in Penang. So many new buildings that I have never seen before. How five months can do so much to Penang. There are also new bumps on the road where there were none previously. And then there is a new “thing” at the gurney drive roundabout which I also do not know how to describe it. Then the sun here also rises later, and I guess it just mess up my biological clock system ^^. It just feels so different. My home also has new curtains and the food here somehow seems more expensive. The price is about the same as in Sabah but the portion is definitely different!
I guess it will take some time for me to adjust. I felt like a stranger at home. wakaka!! Oh and before I forget I will upload my pictures as soon as possible but definitely not these few days. I have a lot of catching up to do!!
