The Two-Week Gap

First, let me apologize for the lack of updates lately. Have been really busy with my stuff. As many of you might have known, I went for a briefing (more of an induction) lately (Monday) at the MAS headquarters in Subang.

It was a whole day thingy which started at about 9.15am and lasted all the way till 3.30pm with a one hour lunch break in between. During the morning session, we were briefed by the HR department’s staff. Mainly about what to expect, what to bring, what to do and then the terms and condition applied. In the afternoon, we were briefed by one of the captain who fly the triple seven. Very very strict-no-joke fella >.< He sent a guy home because he don’t have a tie. Anyway it was scary.

So after the briefing, my brother fetch me to Pudu Raya bus station and I took a bus back to Penang from there. I do not know why but I just hate going to the bus station at Pudu Raya. It is noisy, unorganized and full of crooks! The last time I went, a man came to me saying that he is that area’s taiko and demanded money from me. I walk into the crowd and he just go away. This time again, a man came to me saying that he was sacked and he was holding 6 ringgit asking me to gave him 3.90 so he can buy a bus ticket (to where I don’t know). I just said I am broke too and he walk off. The nightmare doesn’t end there. My bus which were supposed to depart at 6pm were still nowhere to be seen when its already 5.45pm. Then ar 5.50pm a guy came and ask us to follow him to somewhere, which he then lead us to a road outside opposite the bus station and he asked us to wait there for the bus. Cursed luck and it started to rain! Damn. Lucky there was shelter.

Then the bus finally came at 6.15pm and I was relieved. But again, more drama unfolding soon. After all the passengers have boarded the bus, the ticket collector came to check the tickets. Then problem arises for one passenger. Apparently his ticket is not valid (or something like that) and was asked to get down from the bus. But that fella insisted that he paid for the trip and do not want to get down. Which means more delay for me. Come 6.45pm, the matter was resolved and the passenger were allowed to stay in the bus. But damn, I look out the window and all I see were massive jams! Cursed cursed luck! But I am too tired to care so I just close my eyes and sleep.

Back in Penang, my first priorities are to find 2 sureties to sign my bond and that proved to be really difficult! Anyway while finding my sureties, I also need to go settle all those miscellaneous stuff like snapping passport sized photographs, buying my uniform, buying all those daily necessities and getting all my documents in order. Oh and not forgetting to book my flight tickets (ya, I am not taking the bus anymore).

These were roughly the things I have been doing lately. Also today I went to the Commissioner for Oath to get a Statutory Declaration done to confirm the salary of one of my surety. Will be ready by next Monday, so I keep my fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly from here.

So I have about 10 more days before my sent off to the flight school and seriously, the days now are getting shorter! I can still remember those days when I just came back in May for my sem break and now; how fast 2 months have passed. Like what Nicki said to me last night – One year ago this was all still a dream. Not it is in front of me staring at me. And seriously, I admit that I am excited of what is to come but at the same time I am scared and nervous >.<

I know that after I go to Langkawi for my training, things will never be the same again. It will be some time before I can really meet all my friends in Penang and those in Sabah. I will not be considered as a student anymore. I am already part of the working force. Things will be really really different, challenging and at the same time exciting for me!
