Random Photos – Kitty Love

Just some random shots I took at the Hangar. ^^,

Was going to the washroom when I saw this two really cute cats sleeping. Went back to the crew room and took my camera.

Its a beautiful afternoon and to see them cuddling each other falling to sleep is just sweet. Mmmmm, such a warm feeling.

Looking at this two cats, I wonder, in our very busy lives, when was the last time we showed love to those who are really important to us?

P1070006

How many times have we told them that we still care and that they really mean a lot to us?

P1070007

A lot of us tend to take things for granted. We assume that everything is ok. Everything is fine

But in my opinion, it is this small small little words and actions that are the most important.

Life is short. Appreciate those who are important to you.

Looking at this two cats, it really reminds me of a lot of stuff. I just felt a very warm feeling inside of me when I saw them.

It is just beautiful.

Quick Update

I am back again! Looks like this week I won’t be able to do a ‘lengthy’ weekend summary because I have been busy preparing for my in-house exam this coming Tuesday and Wednesday, so let me just do a quick update.

First up. I have made a few improvements to the blog. I have tagged all the post in my blog starting from the very second one(yup not the first one. hahaha) ^^,

Took me some time but I managed to do it. I hope it will help you readers in case you are looking for something specific. Therefore, I have included a tag cloud in the Widgets. ^^,

Also the other improvement that I have made, which probably you won’t notice mainly because it is a Web Analytics, located just below the tag cloud.

I have signed up for Clicky some time ago, but don’t have the time to optimize it. Managed to do that and I say it is very cool! Recommended to any bloggers who wishes to keep track of your blog traffic. ^^,

It provides you with real time updates and a lot of other cool functions. It can even know what operating system and browser your readers are using.

And I am proud and happy that I actually have readers from France, United States, Korea, Russia, Thailand and Malaysia. Surprising! I thought my readers were all from Malaysia. ^^,

Anyway I guess I have to go now. Oh and before I forget, I have something cool to share with you all this coming Wednesday. So stay tuned. Good night! ^^,

Another Great Week

Its Sunday again!! Yay!! Nothing much for me to report this week except that it has been raining constantly here in Langkawi; compared to the extremely dry weather for the past 4 months or so. The weather is very weird these days. And because of these weird weathers(I think), we have been attacked by lots of bugs recently. Really huge bugs can be found everywhere in the campus and if you come out of your room at night, it is like a Star Wars battleground. They are flying everywhere! One has to be careful or you might end up in a bug-strike situation!

Anyway I was browsing through the pictures in my phone and I found some interesting pictures I would like to share with you guys.

Here is a Jeppesen High Altitude Enroute Chart which covers the Europe. It is extremely long. Roughly 1.6m long. ^^, This charts shows all the airways, nav aids(with its name, frequency, identifier – in characters and morse and finally its coordinates), reporting points, airspaces, communication frequencies, distances and etc. It is practically a chart of the ‘highways’ in the air.

visual977

Here’s a closer look of the chart. Pretty ‘crowded’ right. >.<

visual975

These charts plays an important role in Flight Planning. Whatever information you might need for flight planning purposes, you can find it in the chart.

And when we are too free during our lunch break this is what we do – arrange shoes. Heart-shaped-arranged shoes courtesy of Danny.

Oh, I have an interesting story to share here. Yesterday my roommate and I went to the KFC near Telaga Harbour to buy a mouth-watering KFC lunch. Upon reaching, I noticed that the place is super crowded. I kind of expected it since it is a Saturday. So we went to line up.

As usual, most of the time, as cadets, we talked about aviation. It so happened that my roommate and I was talking about cabin crews. The topic came up because I was telling my roommate that one of my friend wanted to apply to be a cabin crew. So we were talking and then suddenly the man in front of us turned and asked me – “Are you from Langkawi?”

Me : Erm no. I am from Penang actually.

Man : Ohhh. I see. Are you interested in joining the airlines?

Me : Oh I am actually studying here.

Man : The flying academy here?

Me : Yes ^^,

Man : Oh, I worked for MAS. *shows us an ID*

Me : Ooooooo. Cool.

Man : Are you studying here through sponsors or are you paying yourself?

Me : Oh, I am sponsored by MAS. ^^,

Man : *chuckles* * Gave us his name card*

Me : *takes a look* CAPTAIN –  A330’s fleet. CAPTAIN?!

My expression? – SHOCKED!!!!!!! I did not expect to meet a Captain when I am buying KFC. What more a A330 Captain. SHOCKEDDDDDDD!!!

My roommate and I chatted with him for awhile and then we left. We were shocked! ^^, But I am quite happy also to be able to speak to a Captain. I have not met any airlines Captains before in my life. He is the first and what a way to meet a Captain. ^^,

It was great being able to speak to a man who flew such a big aircraft. Looking at myself, I only flew a Tobago 10. I still have a long way to go….. ^^,

All in all, it was a great day and a great week!

I have about 6 more weeks to go before I finish my CA6 phase. The storm is coming…..

Weird Sunday

This week’s Sunday felt weird for me because I did a few things which is out of the ordinary or should I say out from my normal routine.

My first deviation : Big Mac!
Yes Big Mac. This is the first time I ate a Big Mac though it has been out for a zillion years! I don’t know why but everytime I go to McD I order all sorts of burgers, be it Double Cheese, Fillet-O-Fish, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McDeluxe but never have I ordered a Big Mac before. Today I had my first! Tada!!! LOL. My first Big Mac at the age of 22. ^^,

Second Deviation : Indian Hair Saloon!
It has been a million years since I last went to an indian hair saloon. I used to cut my hair a lot in an Indian shop when I was a kid and then stopped going after I am in high school. Well, today I went and cut my hair in an Indian Hair Saloon. The experience brings back memories! How nostalgic! LOL >..<

Discovery Channel

I have been reading a lot of Japanese-related article lately and discovered lots of really weird stuff. Well not in particularly weird as in alien weird but then weird as in they do research on subjects that we never really thought about.

Here’s a Discovery Channel video form YouTube which I would like to share with you guys. Its kinda weird and at the same time amazing!

And a random picture! >.<

Come to the light.

3 Days to Go!!

This would most probably be the busiest, or should I say, the craziest week ever since I came here. Why? Thats because come this Monday, I will be sitting for my in-school DCAT final exam. There will be 4 papers – Airframe, Piston & Jet Engines, Theory of Flight and Electrics. So its kinda crazy over this weekend to have to study all the 4 of this subject in 2 days. And mind you, we have worksheets to do also.

Anyway, let me take you through a typical day of myself in the flying school.

Alarm blares like mad at 0530 hours. A new day for me. Excited. But somehow wished I could sleep longer. >.<

Bath, and then get myself into the uniform and off I go with my room mate to the cafe for our breakfast! For today, this is what we are havin :

Tuna sandwich with hot Milo! What a way to start your day! Yum Yum Yum! ^^,

So after breakfast, I went into our class which is called Tobago 10, which is the name of the aircraft I am going to fly soon.

Class is until 1345 hours. So after class, its lunch time! Got too hungry so I did not take any photo. Instead I got this photo when I am going back to the room after lunch.

^^, Beautiful ain’t it!

In case you are wondering how much I have to study over the weekend, here’s the load :

Colored books are worksheets. I estimate it to be nearly 700-1000 Questions here. And the 5 books there which I need to study.

So any of you guys out there still think being pilots is just something easy where you just sit and press buttons, think again.

Take 2

The power of RedBull! For comparison purposes. LOL >.<

Well forget about books and lets come back to food again.

This is undoubtedly one of the best views. See this wonderful view everyday when I am on my way to the cafeteria for dinner!

LOL. No food picture today though. Wakaka.

Oh and did I mention that we finally received our Airport Pass today? Well its nothing big or anything, but I feel damn proud when it was issued to us. It just make me feel that I am one step closer to the cockpit. ^^, And it always gives me the motivation to strive harder!

^^, Proud to present……..the Botak Head!!! ^^,,

Anyway I am kinda tired now, so I guess I will stop here. See you guys in 3 days time when I am back

SuperMama a.k.a Potato Lover

I whole-heartedly dedicate this post to you Mama. I still can’t believe it that you will be going to UK this Monday and I really can’t imagine how things would be different in the time to come. It will be very difficult to meet you and the thought of that made me feel very sad.

Knowing that also, I feel very happy for you because you are going to embarked on a journey that will teach you so much about life and you will meet so many people. Great great people you will be meeting over there. And for that I am very happy and glad for you.

I want to wish you all the best in your undertakings and if time might seem to be tough for you, always remember that we are always there to support you. But I guess I don’t have to worry about that because after all, you are the SuperMAMA!

Take care of yourself and keep in touch k MAMA!

P.S : Mama, I still love this lil airplane over here ^^,

では、また みんなさん!

A Sad Week For Batch 22

The end of another week and I am back yet again for more updates. Anyway this week has been another hectic one with lots of exam and also because its a fasting month, our class starts at 6.30am.

Anyway I guess you guys must be tired of constantly reading about me saying how busy I am in the week. I apologize but then thats how it is. LOL. >.<

Today I will start my post rewinding way back to last weekend. Last weekend, me and my friends go out to town to replenish our food stock and also to check out the various places in Langkawi. We went to Langkawi Parade first to restock our wallets and also to check if our monthly allowance has been banked in or not. But sadly, it was not banked in yet. So I am RM300 poorer. T.T

So after “refueling”  our wallet we decided to go to the top floor where the cinema is to see if Wall-E being shown or not. But imagine our surprise when the lift’s door opened. This is what we saw :

So please be happy that you guys out there have GSC and TGV and Cathay and etc. LOL

So Fariez suggest that we take a cab to the Jetty and have our lunch there. The Jetty is a nice place. Lots of people. Lively. Reminds me very much of Penang. Anyway, we were all hungry so we decided its high time to eat. And so KFC it is for us. >.< And just opposite KFC it was this beautiful heaven we call Baskin Robbins. It was 31st and it is empty! How can that be?! I was so tempted to go and buy but then finally I decided not to. Which I very much regret till now T.T

So after lunch Fariez suggest that we go check out the Eagle Square, so tadaaaaa here we are :

At the Eagle Square

It is National Day, so we fly the flag!!! Anyway if you are wondering why we take pictures under the eagle’s butt, here’s the answer —> It was the only logical place to take as it was a damn hot day and the spot under the butt is shaded! >.< And personally, I love this picture! Love the angle and the way it is captured.

Ok so after hanging out under the eagle’s butt, we headed back to Langkawi Parade to catch a show. Sadly, Wall-E isn’t available so we watched Babylon A.D instead. After that, we stock up our supplies in which I spent nearly RM200 for it. T.T

So there is it my weekend.

Anyway I decided to show you guys what I do after class when I am in my room. As usual, I am a very “hardworking” person, so first thing I do when I get back is to study (of course after I bath!) Yup! So here below is an example of my notes. This is the notes from Aircraft Systems. This is where we learn all about aircraft systems which consists of stuff as small as a switch to things as big as the tyres and also complex systems such as the hydraulic systems up to the air conditioning system. Shown here is the pneumatic system. ^^,

Pneumatic system = high pressure air system normally operated at 3000p.s.i in modern system.

I have this habit of eating and also studying at the same time. So here it is! My best friend!

Yogood!!

And also…..I get creative sometimes. >.< You guys can try to caption the empty bubble. Anyway the white huge “whale” is what I found stuck to my Yogood package. Some sort of glue I think.

Whale : Here I come! Move away!

Little Whale : Arghhhhhhhhhh!

And I have sharp eyes! ^^,

Hmmm. All the qualities of a good pilot! Huhuhuhuhu. >.<

I guess many of you would wonder why the title of this week’s post is like that. Well this week is indeed a sad week for us because one of our most beloved ground instructor, Captain Swaminathan has decided to call it a day here. He has decided to move to Dubai to join a new flying school! T.T We must have sucked big time! LOL. He is a real good instructor and through him I learn a lot of new things about flying. It is just beautiful, the experience we had with him.

So today was his final class with us and it feels really sad knowing that come next week he won’t be teaching us anymore.

Farewell to a great captain!

And to think back that last time we actually said he looked like Po from Kung Fu Panda. >.<

With camera in hand, the only logical thing to do. Shoot some pictures!

Fariez and me. And god knows where is he looking at. >.< Notice the icon on his head. LOL

Picture of my class. With Dev on the left doing something hmmm…

And from behind my class. ^^, Oh btw the name of my classroom is Tobago 10. Which is actually the name of the airplane we are going to fly. ^^,

And if you wonder what these guys are doing. Wonder no more. Let me fill you in. They are actually doing mix and match to see who is which team for tonight’s futsal game at a futsal centre near our flight school =.=||. Game starts at 10.00pm till 12.00am.

Oh and this is our group photo taken the other day, when I get my warning letter. T.T  I have ordered my copy which will cost me another RM12. T.T

And I guess thats all for this week. It will be a whole new week next week. And also one week closer to 30 September!

Oh not forgetting. I decided to teach you guys something to about flying. Well, like always, pictures speaks louder than words!

Today we are going to learn Theory of Flight! Lesson 1! We are going to discuss about Slipstream SLEEPstream!

End of Lesson 1! Class dismissed! Now go study!

I Dunno What to Put

Ok seriously, I do not know what I should put for the title.

This week one of the batch here have graduated. More specifically batch 12. And this makes me wonder when would be our turn (which in case you don’t know, I am in batch 22 >.<). Anyway, because of this graduation ceremony, there are no classes on Friday but there is a class today to replace for 3rd October, so that we can have the week off during Raya.

Anyway next week would be the start of the fasting month and class will start at 6.30am and finishes at 1.45pm. Which means, I have to wake up at about 5.00am >.<“”” for the whole one month T.T

Anyway anyway, I heard from the seniors that during the fasting month, the meal would be extra delicious because the amount of food cooked for each meal would be less because only the non-muslim would be eating, and for a fixed budget which are allocated for our food, the chef will need to cook more expensive food to exhaust the budget allocated, which translates directly to more delicious food!! Yummy!! ^^,

So because of that, I thought that it would be more appriopriate if I start to show you guys what I eat here. And what better way than to show you what I ate for my dinner last night :

My meal for last night. Nope its not provided by the school but I ask my room mate to tapau it. Kenny Rogers. LOL >.< It would be great if my school gives me this. LOL

And I didn’t know that Kenny Rogers has take away. They even come with a fork and knife that works. Unlike some fast food where they give you fork/spoon/knife/etc. that breaks even before you use it.

I guess thats all for today. Nothing much to update except during the whole week I am just studying and doing exams. Got my results for Electrics today and I scored 98. Quite happy about it. And also today we had our Aircraft Systems’ paper which is quite tricky in my opinion. ^^,

Oh and also, tomorrow I will be heading to the town. Going to resupply and also hope to catch Wall.E. Went last week and it wasn’t showing yet. Hope it is showing this week.

+.+

Grrrr….

Came online to try to look for some technical stuff about airplanes and Google keep giving me sites which totally has no connection to what I am searching for. Grrrr…. T.T

Anyway. here’s the result of my language pack! Changed the language of my whole system. Love it. ^^,

Don’t ask me why I wanted to change it. No reasons. I just wanna change it. Maybe I am just bored. LOL.

Nothing much to update here actually. I am just out of ideas this week. I just hope that time passes faster and I can get home faster to enjoy my little 6 days of peace. The pace here is kinda fast. Week 2 into DCAT and we have finished nearly half of our books. And by books I meant 4 books. Day and night we are just studying.

I have no complains or whatsoever because I am actually doing what I love. What I wish is that, out of all this crazy speed, I just want to have that little piece of time to think of stuff or just relax for without the need to think of anything. Just a little piece of peace I guess. Thats all I wish for now. ^^,

Next week our class would start at 6.30am and finishes at 12.30pm. Due to the fasting month. So I guess the first few days is going to be terrible for me as my systems readjusts. >.<
